In short: There's no box to paste a CV into: import takes files. Put the text in a plain text file (.txt) and import that, or build your master CV from scratch in the editor.
Why there's no paste box
Import works from files: a PDF, a Word file (DOCX) or a plain text file, up to 10 MB. Text you've copied from somewhere else goes in as a plain text file.
What to do
- Open a plain text editor: TextEdit on a Mac (choose Format, then Make Plain Text), or Notepad on Windows.
- Paste your CV's text and save it with a name ending in .txt.
- Choose Import from file and drop the file in. Headings like Experience, Education and Skills on their own lines help import sort the text.
- Check what it found on the review step before you save.
Starting without a file
No CV to paste at all? Build your master CV from scratch in the editor instead; the score shows what to add next.
