In short: Enter your email and open the link we send, sign in with a password, or continue with Google, Apple or GitHub. Every way reaches the same account.
How it works
On the sign-in page, enter your email and choose Continue with email, then open the link in that email. If you don't have an account yet, the same step creates one.
You can also choose Continue with Google, Continue with Apple or Continue with GitHub, or Use a password instead.
Sign in with a password
- New account: choose Create an account with a password, enter your email and a password of at least 10 characters, then open the link we email to confirm the address. You only confirm once; after that the password alone signs you in.
- Add a password to your account: go to Settings › Account › Sign-in and choose Email me a link to set one. The link lets you choose it, so only someone with your inbox can add one.
- Change it: Settings › Account › Sign-in › Change password. You need the current one, and your other devices are signed out.
- Forgot it: choose Forgot password? on the password form. We email a link that works once, for 1 hour. Choosing a new password signs out every other device, and we email you that it changed.
We refuse passwords that have appeared in a known data breach elsewhere. After several wrong tries, password sign-in waits a few minutes; a sign-in link always still works.
One email is one account
Signing in with a link, a password, Google, Apple or GitHub under the same address opens the same account, not a second one. A GitHub account whose email address isn't verified can't sign in: you'll see "That sign-in didn't finish". Verify the address on GitHub, or use an email link.
If you choose Hide My Email when you continue with Apple, Rolebranch gets a private relay address instead of yours, and that is a separate account. To keep one account, share your email with Apple, or connect Apple in Settings › Account › Sign-in while you're signed in.
If the email doesn't arrive
- Look in your spam folder for Your Rolebranch sign-in link, Confirm your email for Rolebranch or Reset your Rolebranch password.
- Choose send it again on the Check your inbox page.
- If the address was wrong, Use a different email takes you back to fix it.
If that doesn't work
