In short: Open Connectors in the sidebar, pick ChatGPT, Claude, Le Chat or another AI app, follow its steps and choose Allow. The app can then read your CVs, add and update applications and ask Romy for CVs and letters with your credits. Romy's drafts still wait for you.
Where to start
Open Connectors at the foot of the sidebar (on a phone, from your initials at the top right), press G then C, or find it with ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows). Find your tool's card (or search for it), choose Connect, and its page walks you through each step, with the name and address to copy where the tool needs them. It takes about a minute. Raycast is set up on a computer.
Rolebranch's address is https://app.rolebranch.com/mcp.
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Settings › Security and login and turn on Developer mode. Whether you have it depends on your plan and, at work, your workspace settings.
- Open Settings › Plugins and choose +. Enter the name Rolebranch and the address, keep authentication on OAuth, then choose Create.
- ChatGPT opens Rolebranch. Sign in if asked, choose what it may do and its Romy credits, then choose Allow.
- In a chat, turn on Rolebranch from + and ask it about your applications.
Claude
Rolebranch is in Claude's connector directory, on claude.ai, the desktop app and the phone app.
- Open Rolebranch in Claude's directory, or in Claude open Customize › Connectors, choose +, then Browse connectors and search for Rolebranch. Choose Connect. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner turns it on for everyone first in Organization settings › Connectors.
- Claude opens Rolebranch. Sign in if asked, choose what it may do and its Romy credits, then choose Allow.
- In a chat, turn on Rolebranch from + › Connectors and ask away. Once connected, it works in the Claude app on your phone too.
Can't find it? Add it by hand: in Customize › Connectors choose +, then Add custom connector, enter the name Rolebranch and the address, choose Add, then Connect. Claude's Free plan takes one custom connector.
Other apps
Le Chat and Raycast each have their own steps on the Connectors page. Any other app that takes a remote MCP server address works too: choose Custom connector, add the address and it signs in by itself.
What a connected app can do
- Read your master CVs and applications. Your contact details stay out.
- Add applications and update their facts, status, notes and next steps.
- Read a job posting you share with it, from a link or pasted text, and compare it with your master CVs before anything is saved. Pages behind a login need the text pasted. Free.
- Compare a saved posting with your master CVs, for free.
- Brief you: what is coming up, what waits for your review, who has not replied, and how your search is going in numbers. In ChatGPT it can also search your applications and CVs.
- Ask Romy for a tailored CV (5 credits) or a cover letter (3 credits), with what it tells her about the job. This uses your own credits, up to the app's limit.
- Suggest changes to a tailored CV or to a master CV, for example when you tell it about a new project. You accept or reject each one in Rolebranch.
- Hand you a CV or cover letter: a PDF link that works for 15 minutes, or the text to paste into a form.
- Check a CV with Rolebranch's free score, and create a new master CV from your CV text or file. It never changes a master CV itself.
- Prepare you for an interview and practise with you: Romy builds the questions and gives feedback on your answers (10 credits and 1 credit, from your credits), and your own stories are saved in your words.
What it can't do
It can't apply or write to employers, delete anything, change your master CVs, accept Romy's drafts for you or change your account settings. Drafts it asks for wait for your review in Rolebranch, and what it changes shows in the application's Activity with the app's name.
You stay in control
On the Allow page you choose what the app may do and how many Romy credits a month it may use: 100 unless you change it, and 0 means it can't start Romy's work. Open the app in Connectors to change its credits, see what it did, or Disconnect it. To let it do more, connect it again from the app.
If that doesn't work
Tell us which app you used and at which step it stopped. A person on the team replies by email.
