# The PDF looks different from the preview

> The preview shows your CV as you type, changes you haven't saved included. The PDF is made from the version you last saved, so save first, then download it again.

## What you saw

A downloaded PDF without your latest edits, or with a different template or colour than the one on screen.

## Why it happens

The preview beside the editor follows every change as you make it, before it's saved. The PDF is made on the server from a saved version of the CV: the latest one, or the one you picked in the version history with **PDF of this version**. Changes you haven't saved aren't in it yet.

## What to do

1. Save the CV. The editor shows **Unsaved changes** until you do.
2. Download the PDF again from the CV, not from an older version in the history.
3. If the template or colour is wrong, check which one the CV uses: a tailored CV can have its own, apart from its master CV.

## If that doesn't work

If a saved CV and its PDF still differ, send us the template you use and what differs. A person on the team replies by email.
