# Redeem a coupon for Romy credits

> A coupon is a code from the team or a post that adds Romy credits. Type it in Settings › Credits under Have a coupon? and press Redeem. Each code works once per account, while it runs.

## How to redeem one

1. Open **Settings › Credits**.
2. Under **Have a coupon?**, type the code. Capitals or not, it doesn't matter.
3. Press **Redeem**. Your credits update at once.

A link the team shares (`app.rolebranch.com/redeem/CODE`) opens the same place with the code filled in; it still waits for you to press Redeem. On a phone, **Have a coupon?** opens a sheet with the field.

## What a coupon gives

Each coupon says which kind of credits it gives:

- **Permanent credits** join **Permanent**. They never expire, and Romy spends them last.
- **Credits for this month** join **This month**. Romy spends them right after your monthly credits, and they lapse with them on the day your next monthly credits arrive. The message after Redeem says until when.

The credit history lists the coupon by its code.

## When a code doesn't work

- **We don't know this code**: check it for a typo.
- **This code works from…**: it isn't open yet; come back on that day.
- **This code ended**: it's past its last day, or the team ended it.
- **Everyone this code was for has used it**: it had a limited number of places.
- **You used this code on…**: each code works once per account.
- **Too many tries**: wait the minutes it says, then try again.

## If that doesn't work

If a code you were given doesn't work and none of the above explains why, tell us the code. A person on the team replies by email.
