# Stages and the 7-day check-in

> Each application moves from Saved to Applied to Interviewing. An applied one that hasn't moved for 7 days asks whether you heard back, until you answer or snooze it for another 7 days.

## The stages

An application starts as **Saved**, then moves to **Applied** and **Interviewing** as your search goes on. You move it yourself, on the board or in the application, and the time it spends in each stage is kept.

## The 7-day check-in

When an application has sat in Applied for 7 days without moving, Rolebranch asks: did you hear back? Answer it, or snooze the question for another 7 days. It keeps asking until you do one or the other.

## Why it asks

Home counts how your search is going, like how often you hear back and how long it takes. A check-in keeps those numbers true to what happened.
